Cupping Therapy

Cupping is an alternative therapy that originated in China thousands of years ago and has become more mainstream in the US in recent years due to celebrity-fueled fame. While large round bruises aren't usually deemed attractive, somehow those celebs and pro athletes make it look cool . . . and those bruises are mighty effective. Let's review!

Cupping involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. The suction then facilitates healing by increasing the blood flow and oxygen to the cupped areas. It is used to treat pain, ease scar tissue deep within muscles and connective tissues, and reduce swelling and muscle knots. Basically, if you're looking for relief from back and neck pains, stiff muscles, anxiety, fatigue, migraines, and rheumatism, this is a great therapy for you. It promotes cell repair, helps form new connective tissues and creates new blood vessels in the tissue.

Also, according to traditional Chinese medicine, cupping improves the flow of Qi (your vital force). So if you have been feeling that your Qi was out of whack, we've got you covered.
